Rest and Relaxation on the job!

Sansuka strolled in to a district that looked much like all the rest. The old wooden styled Edo period houses and the dirt roads. Well, Sansuka remembered this place before the occupation and during the academy he had the greatest adventures here. His body strolled up to the one shop that seemed to stand out for Sansuka even though it looked nothing special. It was called, 'Subete no tame no onigiri' or "Rice balls for all" He laughed a little at the name every time he managed to come here. And last but not least, his favorite part, was the food. He loved the food here and it was perhaps the best food he'd have in his life. Well, unless Sayomi managed to make something better. A soft smile crept up on his lips at that thought, and he trailed off in thought. But with ease he sat down on a bench outside and gazed at the forest near them. The pond wasn't far, a thing he'd have to show her eventually. A slight chuckle crossed his lips before he looked back to see the shop was just ready to open.

She wasn't quite sure on how everything was styled in such a manner. It was very confusing yet curious to it. She followed along, sometimes skipping along. She was very cheerful at this point. However she looked and saw the sign. A confused expression went on her face, but seeing as Sans was walking in she might as well go with. Soon enough the smell of food came and her face grinned much wider than normal. "Oh my god it smells like heaven...I mean uh-UMM oh sorry that's kinda awkward. Aha..." She laughed feeling odd about calling this place such a thing. In life she had no beliefs, only her mother did. Even then it was nothing like here. It was an awkward element as it had tended to be such a controversial topic that caused many incidents. It was such an often used wording however. "Still this whole place smells so good!" A smile went on as she followed.

Sayomi grinned widely and went on to pull them both into a hug. "Oh my gosh you two know each other? That's so sweet, it's like a big old friend fest here!" She mentioned happily. She really didn't want to have to ask to hug here. People when alive were so afraid of others and the whole germs spreading. "Oh I love group meetings! Okay so look I dunno anything about food here but I want to try whatever there is!" She mentioned enthusiastically. Once she was done hugging she let them go, she wasn't strong but she sure was determined to make a situation a celebration. "So cool, really it reminds me of my book club buds!" She mentioned smiling and recalling her better parts to life with her two best friends. Oh those years of those really fine books and delicious tea drinks was something she treasured and amazingly it wasn't such a depressing idea that she could never have it anymore but a happier memory from being able to just experience it. After all with how she once had that diagnosis, she assumed the short lived life and took each day for her last. Good thing too so she had nothing to regret or feel from her past as a negative reaction.

Sansuka smiled feeling the group embrace. He gave the hug as well and quickly returned to his old man nature as he called it. A gentle smile appeared on his lips as the two women started talking about food. Oh boy, Sansuka was going to love this. "Oh, little Sayomi here is an aspiring cook!? Well then, I guess I should teach you every thing I know! Besides, I can't tend this eatery myself or forever." The woman giggled as San chuckled. He'd shake his head before speaking. "But haven't you done that already? Been here forever I mean." He chuckled once more before the woman spoke up lightly. "Oh come now, I only opened the shop maybe two hundred years before you became a twinkle in your mother's eye! I'm not THAT old." She smiled softly and Sansuka would chuckle once more before speaking up. "Mhmm, not that old alright. Ancient is more like it."

Sansuka laughed at his own comment when Yuusaiki cupped a hand over her mouth as she opened it in shock and laughter. She'd then reach over and push Sansuka a little as she spoke. "Ancient!? I'm not THAT old!" They both laughed a bit before Yuusaiki would offer her hand to Sayomi and take her in the back to show her how to make food. Sansuka would, however, lounge around as he always did waiting for food. Being a one in a million born soul, he never had the habbit of wanting to eat. He simply, ate because he was taught through habit of his family doing it. He shrugged for a minute at that thought before lounging around once more. He always kept his whereabouts known to his acting Vice Captain in case something happened.

She gave a sharp nod with a grin towards the wiser woman. "Oh that sound nice, but before I go to school with three teachers I'd like to just have some food first." An innocent laugh came from her as she admitted what she felt the need to do. With that said she took a moment to hear the age difference between the two. "So you're in the thousands? Geez i'm like a baby compared to you guys! Hah here I used to think living to 50 alone was an achievement!" With that said however she followed on to the back. Sure she wanted food but she did want to know some basics to these dumplings.

However a hilarious irony was to come about. Despite herself making foods for her family for years she actually couldn't make good tasting food. Most of her knowledge was good for you food when she had the time, most of the other times she had picked up fast food on her way to and from work. "I know food isn't a necessity but I'd like to know if there's a type of way to make food that could help with healing. I'd like to know incase something were to happen violently." She asked looking around the kitchen. She didn't force anyone to eat her food, rather it was offered. She knew she needed to learn how to cook things to be tastier. Sayomi needed to learn a lot as it was anyway.

Sansuka stretched out his legs as he relaxed. His eyes closing a bit and fading a short bit off to sleep. He was always doing that. He was kind of the lazy man in terms of doing things. But of course, Boukyaku would have none of it! His blade would slowly seep out a pale blue mass with a black outline. The mass would slowly form into a woman that stood around five five foot ten inches. The woman was adorned with a gentle almost pure white kimono which split down either side for her legs. Her feet were adorned in a set of Geta. Simple wooden platforms that were fastened like sandals but had two 'legs' so to speak under them.

They often made clacking noises which drove some people insane. The woman had short white hair which reached down to about the middle of her head all around except her face. Her eyes, however, were a gentle yet somehow cold blue. She stared at Sansuka for several minutes before she walked in to the kitchen, grabbed a steaming hot cup of tea and left. When she came out, she walked directly over to Sansuka and looked dead center the wall as if not paying attention to him. Then with a swift movement she poured the hot tea on his lower chest. He'd quickly shoot up yelling something that sounded like 'hot' in Japanese but one couldn't be sure. Eventually he managed to stop the burning to look at Boukyaku hiding her smile by her right sleeve which was long enough to hide herself from the tip of the nose down to the bottom of her breasts.

Sansuka huffed lightly and sat back down, brushing his uniform off as he spoke lightly. "I wasn't sleeping. I was, well, resting my eyes in preparation for anything that could happen." Sansuka had stated. Finally, the female voice from before spoke out in a somewhat playful, mature tone. "Of course you were."

"No need to remind me. But it may not last forever so it's best to teach some of you new guys now." She mentioned as Sayomi listened intently from her question being answered too. Sayomi only just got here and yet here she was figuring out the basics behind many amazing things. Some of it was haunting to hear, like death. But she kept that smile on her face glowing. She was so carefree and happy on most all topics.

After heading back to the kitchen Sayomi heard the woman speak in a reply. "You'll have to take it up with Sansuka when he isn't dozing away. I'm just here to make sure people can stomach the food." With that Sayomi gave a strong nod to her. Sure she'd like to learn how to heal but perhaps it was a better idea to first get it down the gut. "Well okay then, so is things here similar to stuff in life then?" The woman nodded gathering out kitchen supplies before looking to Sayomi and waiting for her choice on food to make. "Well uh, how about a simple salad? Since we have the time for it."

After beginning to learn how to tear the lettuce correctly and dress it up Sayomi was getting the hang of things. However soon a yelp of pain came from the dine area as she dropped the salad tongs and rushed to the room where the yell came from. "Sans?!" She asked in a worried tone then saw was looked like steam and a figure near to him. Her hand was too the wall as she was nearly ready to run. At least it showed that she had quick reflexes, if not fantastical speed. But one thing strikingly apparent was her stamina fell short. She was breathing heavily, already out of breath.

Sansuka looked to where the familiar voice came from. Upon seeing Sayomi breathless, Sansuka stood up and was a tad bit confused. He would rest his hand on the hilt of his Zanpaktou before speaking. "Is everything alright Sayomi?" He asked, as if oblivious that she may have came running from his previous audible reaction to the tea. Boukyaku started to now laugh so hard it could be heard. It took a minute for Sansuka to realize anything and actually had to be told. "Baka!" The woman said as she backhanded Sansuka clean across the face sending him curling into a quick stance of pain. "HATATATATATATAT, What was that for!?" Sansuka blurted out as he stood up again, a red hand print clearly visible form where she backhanded him. "She came running to see if YOU were alright. I swear you're such a Baka sometimes." Boukyaku rolled her eyes before finding a seat and sitting down. She'd rest her hands in her lap with her legs out to her left side. She faced the general direction of the kitchen so she could see both Sansuka and Sayomi.

"Oh, well, I'm fine. haha. Boukyaku decided I shouldn't be dozing off." He chuckled as he scratched his head giving off that 'this man is an idiot' vibe to other people. San would plop down like he did before and stretch his legs out. He would relax and rub his stomach a little before speaking. "I don't suppose there's any food made around here." Boukyaku rolled her eyes once more. "No San, this is a place that sells food and there's no food with in a hundred miles." Sansuka laughed a little once more before looking to Boukyaku and Sayomi.

Seeing things were calm a strong sigh came from her as she wiped her forehead. "Ha good, things are alright." A smile came back to her face as she watched the other basically pummel him around. "Hey hey no need for violence here, I'm almost done making a salad dish! Also what is a Baka?" Sayomi asked curiously as she looked to them both. It was then she realized she was being called by the woman in the kitchen. "Sayomi? Where'd you go off to?" A call came when Sayomi realized she might want to get back to her dish. A wave from her hand came about to them both as she laughed. "Sorry I've got to get back to it, I'll ask about this stuff later. Seeya!"

As she returned she explained her situation as she went on back to making the food. Dressing the salad up with what she could. It wasn't like she could ruin a dish like a plain salad but the taste would indeed be ruined. The reasoning, she didn't put any spices or other types of alternative flavors to give it a kick. It was just lettuce and other vegetables. Kinda bland to most tongues and mostly a meal made of air, didn't really have anything too it. "Well how about it?" She asked the woman to take a bite. A shake came from her as she pointed out. "You need flavor, something to make it look and taste good. Here try adding some fish slices to it. I've got to check for the dough so we can work on those dumplings later." Sayomi took a while to look over the spices confused before mostly dumping what looked like the proper amount needed for daily consumption rather than what would make the food taste better.

As she finished up she took the plate out to put it in front of Sansuka. It looked pretty nice but the flavor wasn't going to be so generous. With how she made it one would be shocked if the consumer didn't get disgusted at the food.

Sansuka lifted his head upon hearing the door open. It revealed Sayomi bringing a plate out. It looked, well, not that bad actually. Sansuka was beginning to think that Sayomi had a gift for food. It looked and even smelled, well, amazing. Perhaps even better than Hana used to make. His mind quickly shook that thought before taking his sticks and digging in. As he laid the foundation of a grand adventure into the masterful world of eating he was joyful. The instant he took his first bite, however, he stopped. He simply sat there with a mouth full of food that he didn't really want to even chew. It was then he immediately though to himself that this was perhaps the single most awkward tasting dish in all of existance. Of course, the moment he thought that Boukyaku immediately slapped Sansuka's leg. "Hey now, no need to be rude." She said, her lips grinning just slightly at seeing Sansuka in a bit of discomfort like that.

Sansuka would force himself to get the food down before placing the sticks to the side of the plate and stare at Sayomi. He was speechless and unsure how to address the situation. He'd take a deep breath but immediately convulsed in doing so from having re-tasted the flavours he just swallowed. He'd shake his head and clear his throat before speaking. "It's um, well, it's interesting. Though I think the flavors are a little off. It feels like, you're making this to feed a rabbit or something." He blinked a little before chuckling at his own comment. He'd quickly shake that off and clear his throat again. "Is this the kind of stuff you used to make before? Because, well, if it is, I think you need another lesson from Yuusaiki-chan. I mean, I'm not trying to be rude." He said chuckling a little and scratching the back of his head.

As she watched him try out her food she was at first ecstatic at the initial reaction. After all it meant the food looked appetizing enough to eat. However with the first bite down she noticed him sit it down and push it aside. With the comment she thought on to how she made it. "Well yeah that's how I've always made food. Most of the time I ignore flavors, being up on the move so much I just got what I needed and headed out the door." Sayomi gave a sigh smiling for a while and laughing a bit. It was a bit funny how bad of a cook she was surprisingly, despite what she thought of herself to be a good one. "I even tried some of it before coming out here and it tasted just fine to me. I guess everyone has their own sense of taste." She gave a shrug as she took the dish to her own hands to taste test it once more. Despite him having a bite before hand. "Mhmm, tastes alright to me. But don't worry i'm gonna learn how to make dumplings in a bit so maybe you'll like that better." She mentioned taking the salad back to the kitchen mostly to finish off herself. She didn't exactly figure it wasn't going to just go to waste so long as she ate it. Despite it didn't matter much in the long run.

Once finished she washed her hands up and cleaned the surface for the dough. Flour spread around by the woman as Sayomi watched her kneed it out and explain the steps. She had asked about the salad dish. "Oh I guess I may have added the wrong spices. Not to worry I finished it up so there's no mess!" With that a strong sigh came from the woman as she went on to explain the dumplings recipe. "Well with these you can't just toss in random things and expect it to cook or taste good. Since you don't have a varied taste sense I'll need you to just follow instructions by the book rather than by guts." With that a list of instructions were written down for Sayomi and she soon went to work with it. Once she was able to follow the kneading process she began to follow the same pattern, picking up on it rather well.

Sansuka felt a little sick still but he was starting to get over it. A sudden nearly urgent thought came to mind. Could a soul vomit? He'd never expereinced that sort of thing so he wasn't sure. And he wasn't eager to find out either. Luckily for him though, he managed to swallow it down as it were and become a prime example of a horrid captain. Well, for the most part he was lazy and somehow that translated into how he ate? Well, either way Sansuka was sitting there listening to the barely audible conversation from the kitchen. It was then that Boukyaku poked Sansuka and whispered something in his ear about training Kido soon. Sansuka would smile and nod only to rest himself in the same position as before, nearly falling asleep.

Sure, he wasn't a complex guy. Well, for the most part anyway. Instead he was rather simple with simple needs and wants. But of course, he did notice he had a thing for this woman when normally he was all flirt and no commitment. Sure, he'd love to flirt and play around but he'd never be intimate with anyone. At least, not until now. He'd actually think he might have a chance with her but yet, he realized that she was too much of an oblivious person to notice his feelings. At least, for now. Perhaps some day in the future maybe.

She continued to fix the dough correctly in the instructed way. Following the listed steps to a precise amount. Everything was made not from instinct but teaching. Perhaps that was one asset she may not bring to know. The ability to create something from instinct was varied. She had to be taught step by step to follow such. But then why was she so avid in weaponry ability despite never holding one or taught to use one. Wouldn't that be considered instinct use? Either way Sayomi finished her batch to be cooked and the head chef was finishing her own.

It was pretty obvious who's batch would taste better. But Sayomi wanted to try her best at it nevertheless. The smell of the freshly baked dumplings engulfed the air with their sweetened flavor. Sayomi stood back to allow the woman to take the batch out of the oven. Only now would someone be able to tell the difference between the two made trays. But since the first bit of salad probably threw off one's appetite it would be best to wash it down and try the batch in a blind set.

So both sets were mixed together into a tray set. Decorated and ready this time the woman took them out herself to be served to Sansuka. Sayomi only following behind as she wanted to try them out. Sayomi sat down to take a load off, powdered somewhat in flour. The tray was set and now with everyone seated and everything cleaned up save for the chefs their self. It was time to dig in to the dumplings. "Okay so hopefully this one's better right?" Sayomi mentioned as she took a dumpling to munch on. The one she grabbed happened to be the better of the two sets and her face lit up with amazement. She didn't even want to talk just eat. "See that's the kind of face to look for with food. Not just good but great right?" She pointed out to Sayomi with a laugh as she took one to munch on. She herself didn't mind whichever one was taken. She however could tell which one was made by whom and so she awaited the one who'd take the first bite from Sayomi's batch.

Sansuka heard the door open to see Yuusaiki bring out the dumplings. Ah, so they were doing a blind test, yes? Well then, Sansuka decided it was time to just dig in randomly and take a dumpling. With out hesitation he plopped it inside of his mouth and began chewing. It was great, perhaps better than great. It tasted, different, but he loved it. Different by the fact that he'd tasted Yuusaiki's dumplings for several hundred years, so he could tell if something was changed. He nodded lightly and spoke up, partially full of dumpling. "This is fantastic. And I'm going to say this one was Sayomi's. Simply because it tastes different than what I'm used to Yuusaiki making." He nodded with confidence before grabbing another one. And tasting that one was great as well! It was, also different than normal. He was slightly confused but he believed the second one tasted better. Oddly enough. He shook his head and spoke once more. "Oh you clever girl. You changed the recipe so I couldn't tell which one was which! They both taste good! But I have to say, this second one was better by far. I'm still going to guess it was Yuusaiki's." Sansuka nodded confidently. His eyes closed for a minute feeling the heat and pleasant aroma of the dumplings caress his nose and stomach. Oh, they were fantastic, none the less.

Sayomi continued to eat the dumpling with widened eyes. Here she used to think taste was just relative to how much healthier the food was to a person. No flavor was something much more important to ingredients. The head chef here however was smiling and enjoying a couple of them. "Well I thought it be more suited to change it up. Eating the same thing can be boring and I wanted to see if a few things would make it pop." She made a hand sign of a popping figure then went on to look to Sayomi. "Yes well I wanted to be sure she could at least make them. Adding better taste to it will just have to take time and practice. Lucky for you that you've got plenty of both hmm?"

With that Sayomi returned with a nod as she continued to eat the few. By the time all of them would be done there would be just the two left for the training needed. Necessity or not this was a feeling of warmth and lovely aroma that one just couldn't pass up. Yuusaki took up the empty bowl and rose up. "Well I'd best get back to making a new batch of these to have to myself later!" A wave came from her as she headed to the kitchen to start her work progress. Sayomi took a while to just let the food simmer before looking to Sansuka. "I didn't think food was meant to taste that good. Boy was I glad to be wrong. So uh she mentioned you could teach me how to make these able to heal one's body. I mean I'd like to learn as soon as I can." She asked giving off a smile that was of excitement and curiosity.

Sansuka smiled a bit, lost in thought really. He'd continue to smile before tossing a soft wave but he was more or less just lost there in his own mind thinking about the food. His eyes closed a little before he was shaken by Sayomi's request. He paused a moment and quirked an eyebrow. Making food heal? Well, that wasn't something that anyone ever tried that he knew of. He took a minute to think, tapping his right index finger on his chin a few times before making a 'hmm' sound. "Well, I suppose you could infuse it with Reishei or Reiryoku like a Kido. But no one's ever tried that before. I'm not even sure it'll work. But I don't suppose it's a bad idea to try. However, in order for that to be a thing you have to learn the basics of Kido." Sansuka nodded a minute before standing up and stretching a little. After which he grabbed his Zanpaktou and strapped it to his body where he began walking out the door. He offered a wave to those around him before exiting the building and walking back towards the Academy. However, he stopped a moment before looking off to his right. He spoke up lightly as he closed his eyes. "There's a place near here that I'll show you one day. Hopefully at least. It's a very special place to me. So much so, that no one actually knows about it." He said softly before abruptly walking forward once more.

"But that's only if certain things happen. Until then, I'll leave it to your imagination." He said smiling brightly. It was then that Boukyaku spoke up, ruining some of the surprise. "It's a waterfall that created a pond. And behind the waterfall is a secluded cave with a hotspring. It's where he takes people he believes are important to him." She held her sleeve up again while giggling lightly. Sansuka huffed a little, showing his annoyance but he kept walking towards the Academy. Not everyone enjoyed Kido. Most could barely preform anything over basic. Some were rarely skilled in being able to preform above average. But few, and that's VERY few could preform the type of kido that Sansuka could. He held in him the single most strongest kido ability known in existance. A single of his kido could decimate a whole city in the blink of an eye. But yet, he was the type to reach a peaceful solution instead of fighting. Yeah, Sansuka would rather sip some nice hot tea instead of fighting with his opponents. But of course, he rarely got that opportunity. In retrospect, he tended to see Shinsui as a type of role model. Fancying himself after that man in many ways.

Some would say too many ways as he took up Shinsui's lack of drive to fight as well. But alas, that's just who he was. Some despised him for it because he was a captain. Others, however, believed him to be an amazing captain. Mainly his squad thought that. They felt he was a normal shinigami and not some high and mighty captain.

She thought on and nodded on the idea. "I just want to see if maybe it could be carried around. Incase something happens it would be like having a first aid kit. Anyone could have it just about any time." She thought on as she heard him mention the words she really couldn't pronounce. However a good thing to this was she could understand what they meant, just not know how to say it herself. It was then her interests peaked on the new topic arising. A secret spot she'd have to imagine. Of course it was spoiled before she could ever think on it. But nevertheless Sayomi was still ecstatic.

"Wow that sounds amazing! I'd love to see it one day. I've actually never seen a waterfall before. Save for books and pictures, same with a hot spring. I never had the time to travel much so this should be nice!" She pointed out happily as she stood up and gathered the dumplings into a folded napkin to take with her. She was curious to find out how to work with this so called Kido and Reishei or Reiryoku. Whatever they were it sounded important so she had to stay sharp in hearing to find out whatever she could.
